Founded in 1984
Greg Zolotas founded Zolotas Electric in 1984 in Salem, Massachusetts. He started with the simple belief that homeowners deserve an electrician who's honest, does the work right, and stands behind it — no upsell, no pressure, no commissioned salesperson.
Four decades later, that belief still runs the company. We're still family-owned. We're still based in Salem. And we still answer the phone ourselves.
Why Zolotas — Electricians First
There's a critical difference between an electrician and a heat-pump-or-panel company that does electrical on the side. We are licensed electricians first.
- ⚡ We hire and train licensed electricians. Electrical work is what we do — not a side service bolted onto HVAC, solar, or remodeling.
- 📍 We know the local inspectors. From Salem to Gloucester, Beverly to Newburyport — we work with Essex County's wiring inspectors every week.
- ⚡ We coordinate with the utilities. National Grid and Eversource disconnect/reconnect work is part of what we do — heat pumps, panel upgrades, EV chargers, solar all require utility coordination.
Licensed, Insured, Accountable
Every job we take on pulls a permit and is inspected. That matters for several reasons: it protects you, it protects your home, and it's how the heat pump, panel upgrade, and rebate pathways require licensed electrician work to be documented. We carry full liability insurance and workers' comp. License available on request.
